Megan Anna Rapinoe grew up in California, Redding. Her birthplace was on July 5, 1985. Megan started playing soccer as an infant and developed her abilities in her teens. It was the Seattle Washington Sounders Women, which is now Sound FC, were her the next team. She played the 2013 soccer season in France. After the WPS was disbanded the team was renamed Seattle Reign FC (now OL Reign) of the National Women's Soccer League NWSL. Rapinoe began to be one of the leading players for her team, eventually becoming the captain. Rapinoe scored two goals when the United States beat Australia 4-3 in the bronze-medal game during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Japan had been delayed from their participation in the Olympics until 2021 because of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
